Over the past year, the Palmer Railroad Coalition, along with municipal officials from Amherst MA and Storrs CT, have sponsored informational and organizing meetings to promote a new passenger rail service and improved freight capacity along the New England Central Line between Brattleboro VT with New London, CT. The group has met with MassDOT officials, state legislators, regional planning associations, business and community leaders, and town officials from scores of adjacent towns along the New England Central Line.

The facts and business rationale for the improved rail service are compelling. As a result of the Coalition’s efforts, many legislative leaders, business interests, and civic leaders from communities along the line have come on board.
